My husband has been using these cholesterol test strips. They tend to show results that are 30 points lower than what we get from lab tests. For instance, if the strip reads 190, the lab test done just an hour later might show 220. That's why we always add 30 to whatever the strip indicates.

One issue I've run into (and it's happened twice now) is that about a month before the strips are set to expire, the testing device claims the strip is expired, even though it’s not! This means we have to buy a new pack, and you can imagine how frustrating that is.

Why can’t the strips be valid until the actual expiration date? Should I be storing them in the fridge or something?

Man, supplies can really hit the wallet hard. Back when I kicked off my TMS journey, our church membership was way higher, and I used to do health screenings every year. Now, it's down to every other year. Another thing that bugs me is why they don’t just include a test strip with the Multi-Chemistry Controls instead of making us buy the strips separately.
